Meet Katie Nelson
Founder and Chief Balance Officer
I’m Katie Nelson, attorney, wife, and mom of two, and like many working parents, I know firsthand that balance doesn’t just happen. It takes intention, boundaries, and simple systems that can flex with you, wherever you are and whatever season you’re in.
Family has always been at the hear of my lift. Whether its gathering for family dinners on Sunday after church, celebrating birthdays, or juggling school events, my calendar is consistently full.
Over time, I decided that overwhelmed shouldn’t be the standard. There were weeks when my calendar was packed, but my priorities weren’t reflected anywhere. Important tasks lived in my head, family plans competed with work, and I never truly knew what I had capacity for..
That realization pushed me to reevaluate the systems I had in place. I tried planners and productivity hacks, but nothing truly stuck until I built a simple digital system that didn’t just organize my to do list. It helped me understand my capacity, make conscious choices about where to spend my energy, and create a practical rhythm to show up fully – at work, at home, and for myself.
That experience inspired Suitably Balanced. I help working parents build simple systems to understand their actual capacity, so days run smoother, feel lighter, and priorities are supported. Using digital tools, we streamline the chaos, organize what matters, and create sustainable systems that stick, allowing you to show up fully, not under pressure.
