Meet Katie Nelson
Founder and Chief Balance Officer
I’m Katie Nelson, attorney, wife, and mom of two, and like many working parents, I know firsthand that balance doesn’t just happen. It takes intention, boundaries, and simple systems that can flex with you, wherever you are and whatever season you’re in.
Family has always been at the center of my life. Shaped by my Italian, Mexican, and Greek roots, our home is full of traditions, like gathering for family dinners on Sundays after church. But the reality is that while the food is always good and holidays are LOUD, between work and family plans, my calendar is consistently full.
Over time, I decided that overwhelmed shouldn’t be the standard for me or my family. There were weeks when my calendar looked full, but my priorities weren’t reflected anywhere. Important tasks lived in my head, family plans competed with work deadlines, and I was constantly recalculating what I might be forgetting.
That realization pushed me to rethink the systems I had in place. I tried planners and productivity hacks, but nothing truly stuck, until I built a simple digital system I could manage and carry with me everywhere: on my phone, my laptop, in the middle of a busy week. That system didn’t just organize my tasks, it gave me clarity, control, and a practical rhythm to show up fully – at work, at home, and for myself.
That experience inspired Suitably Balanced. Suitably Balanced helps working parents build simple systems to fit their needs, so days run smoother, feel lighter, and priorities are supported by technology. With tools you already have in your hand, we streamline the chaos, organize what matters, and create sustainable systems that stick, allowing you to show up fully, not under pressure.
Because when your days are aligned with your priorities, life feels more manageable and you can actually enjoy the moments along the way.
